Tungsten based alloys, fulfilling the most severe requirements, on the basis of powder metallurgy techniques. Our know-how in the selection of tungsten powders, their mixing with nickel-iron or nickel-copper results in biphase materials, combining the high density of tungsten with the mechanical properties of iron or the non magnetism of copper.
The high density of DENSRAM® and the possibility to realize complex shapes with most severe tolerances make them the best solution whenever weight is needed in a small volume.
Our expertise in the ?eld of powder metallurgy combined with our advanced production technology and analytical methods ensure the supply of sintered electrical contacts with COPRAM® which meet your most stringent requirements in the best economical conditions.
As an electrical contact supplier of leading manufacturers of high voltage circuit breakers, Casram has acquired a unique capacity to produce tungsten based alloys fulfilling the most severe requirements, on the basis of powder metallurgy techniques.
Our know-how in the selection of tungsten powders, their mixing with nickel-iron or nickel-copper result in biphase materials combining the high density of tungsten with the mechanical properties of iron or the non magnetism of copper.
Our DENSRAM® alloys will provide you a unique mix of characteristics:
- A high density: from 17 to 18,5 g/cm3 (lead is 11,3 g/cm3).
- An excellent machinability thanks to the NiFe or NiCu binder: almost any
shape or tolerance on dimension or geometry is easily achievable with classic
tools and machining equipment.
- A high Young’s modulus.
- High mechanical characteristics: ultimate tensile strength minimum 690MPa.
- And many other unique specificities.
Our state of the art equipment and integrated machining workshop is a
guarantee for our customers to reduce global costs:
- Full control of all aspects of the sintering process: our tradition of Swiss
quality guarantees a material fully compliant with the most severe
specifications.
- Scraps generrated all along the process are valued: another key asset to
optimize costs.
- Simple logistics: we supply fully machined components or even
subassemblies ready for integration, thus avoiding quality and logistics
headaches.
For all these reasons, Casram will be your perfect partner whenever you
need tungsten based heavy metals.
DENSRAM® materials are available either with a NiCu or NiFe binder, depending on whether you need a non magnetic material or an increased mechanical resistance. Our customers will therefore allways find the best compromise depending on their application. Should a specific chemical composition or characteristic be needed, our integrated R&D is available at any time to define the requirements in a partnership state of mind and develop customized solutions.
